I have come to use art as an expression of life – of life around me and within me, it is an extension of my mind and my voice. To me, art is not about trying to reproduce an image (still life or photo), but rather, art is about becoming an expression of what is happening to me and my surrounds; it needs to be a juxtaposition of ideas and images in an attempt to reproduce life in an almost “dreamlike” and personal way. I find inspiration from the everyday, from experiences and emotions, and mostly from the way these all come together in my mind (and art): a compilation of distortions through which the activities of the everyday play out. The collection of art work on this site shows some of this – often a personal journey through my thoughts, a surreal journey as I try to confront and embrace life.
