FRAGILITY | captured or protected
(medium: ink, fineliner + oil paint on canvas size: 30cm x 30cm)
I enjoy receiving your blog. The latest, FRAGILITY, is most intriguing.
We havenât been in touch lately about the book, but you have not been far from my thoughts. I have done some more work on the text of Grandpa Kite, primarily in condensing (editing) it where I can. I am hoping to have it professionally edited as well. I also think it will be good to give a little more emphasis to the strong bond between grandchild and grandparents. The childrenâs book world is keen on themes that will contribute to childrenâs emotional and psychological growth, self-esteem, and their ability to relate to others.
How are you getting on with the illustrations? I look forward to seeing your work as it progresses.
Bill Davis tells me that he is off today to visit your parents for a couple of days, to stay in the Kliphuisie and to draw the mountains in their various lights â he was fascinated by them when he last visited, and wants to build on that. Lucky man. A few nights on the farm is a wonderful thought.
I look forward to hearing from you. I think it will be good for us to work out a plan of action including a timetable so that we may plan the publication of the story.
With best wishes,
